Help with staying on the ball and tackling

Recommended Posts

I’ve practiced in training mode loads, but I find that when playing CPU game:

1: I can’t retain the ball whenever an opponent is nearby, they barge me off the ball and take off with it

2: Whenever I try and do the same it us always a foul

3: When the opposition has the ball in similar situation, they hold on to the ball and push me back

any tips welcome 👍

Hold R2 and don’t press X. Wait for the player to face you.

To protect the ball turn the back to your opponent. Pratice and it’s easy.

Yea as Clarke said, holding R2 and shield the ball from your opponent.

Don't always have to go forward, pass backwards to your defence or goalkeeper if needs be.

Safe passing around the pitch when going forward unless you think you can make that pass that will get you in behind or create an attacking chance and even when you get it forward to your attackers, shield the ball again and try 1-2's in the final 3rd
