Option File format

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know much about the internal format of the files within an Option File? These are the different files I see:

  • .ted (team data import)
  • .ced (competition settings import),
  • .bin (I think this is the same as .ted but for versions of pes before 2018)

I tried hex editing the files, I think they are encrypted or compressed.

I want to know the layout of these file's internals, because I am thinking of an idea that involves online collaborative editing of option files.

I want to try make a site like pesmaster.com but where multiple people can collaboratively build a league online and then download the league in .ted format that will overwrite any other league within PES of their choosing (i.e. this new league does not store info of the underlying team it modified).

Example: One or more people collaborate to make a J-League, creating all the players, teams, tactics, logos, managers, stadiums. They can collaborate and chat about each player to get the stats right. At any point, they can select this league, export it.. choose the PES original league that they want to overwrite. They receive a .zip file containing the WEPES folder with all appropriate .ted/.ced files ready for import.

The way people currently make option files is very manual and time consuming. Collaboration is low, and there is lots of duplicated effort.  I think I can make the process much better.

But I'm having a hard time locating the actual format of OF files. I found this layout for the complete edit data file, this is what I would like to find for a .ted file.

/cc @blueyboy_73 cause you seem to know something about editing

Sounds like a great idea mate, wish I could help you but I don't think I have the expertise.

I guess the system will need to be built from scratch? There's no online software that can already handle doing something similar that would just need tweaking?

@Stoilkys yeah, it'll probably be built from scratch.

I found most of what I need at evoweb forums. The rest, I can probably ask directly to the users there :)
