Palermo Announce 3 Season Plan

Written by

Our first ever interview at the Stadio Renzo Barbera we get a chance to get a look at the new Palermo boss in action since his takeover earlier this season. The first thing he was asked about was the early departure of some of the clubs key players and transfer policy.

Your arrival seen the likes of Slimani, Kruse, Carmona & Kuzmanovic all leave the club. Many loyal fans have been voicing their opinion on the matter questioning your transfer policies what would you say to them?

"Although they were all loyal great servants for the club their styles and abilities did not suit my philosophy and we had to maneuver quickly in the market in order to find the correct players who suited the system."

Many critics have highlighted your behavior in the market as "erratic" going balls deep on strikers and forwards?

“Sometimes you look in a field and you see a cow and you think it’s a better cow than the one you’ve got in your own field. It’s a fact. Right? And it never really works out that way. We've had many good strikers here at Palermo but I know Stevan Jovetic is the one."

There has been vicious rumors circulating that the Palermo hierarchy have given you an ultimatum and a timeframe in which to work towards?

"I dont do ultimatums, I do plans. And my plan is to win the Premier League within the next 2 seasons. We're currently sitting 2nd place in the table for our first season, with the level loving Bushlerker miles out in front effectively having the league won already. 2nd for us the season would be a great achievement with the amount of changes and adjustments to the side in order to put our systems in play."

You mentioned Bushlerker effectively winning the league already? A club like Palermo should be challenging regardless every season surely?

"Yes, of course. A club like ours so steeped in history and silverware always aim for the top. However, Bumlerker and his Liverpool fake XI are an established team in the league and the defending champions. We'll need time which we'll take and the 3 season plan will be a realistic target and goal to have the team molded into the winning machine our fans deserve."

The 3 Season plan would appear to be already in effect at Palermo with Manager Sx removing some of the "old wood" and bringing in fresh new talent all with their best years ahead and preforming already to a high standard. We've profiled some of their more expensive attacking players for this season so far:

Christian Tello

A prolific winger with an eye for goal. Tello's ability has caught many eyes around Europe with some of the top managers around enquiring about his services. He spent his youth at Espanyol and Barcelona, playing for both teams' reserves before breaking through into the first team of the latter.

Tello represented Spain at the 2012 Olympics, and was part of the Spanish U21's squad which won the European U21s Championship in 2013

Florian Thauvin

A wide player who is a left-footer with fine acceleration and jaw-dropping close control. Thauvin was a member of the French U21's which won the FIFA 2013 U21 World Cup in Turkey. He scored a penalty in the 4–0 win over Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals and both French goals in a 2–1 victory against Ghana in the semi-finals.

Stevan Jovetic

Jovetić is known for his dribbling, technical ability, and creativity. His playing style has led to comparisons with Roberto Baggio. Jovetić is a Montenegrin International, having previously represented his team at U21 level. He made his senior international debut in 2007, in Montenegro's first international football match as an independent country. Stevan looks set to flourish in the Palermo strip after a frustrating period at Man City, netting 5 times in his first 3 games.
