Big changes after nightmare start!

Written by

Sporting Lisbon manager JMK7 is under pressure after just three games of his return to the PS4 Prem. His attacking mentality which helped his promotion cause last year has had the opposite effect this season, as his defense has been ravished by two heavy early defeats already. The manager had to take a look at his playing staff and strategy. Changes had to be made. Changing his attack minded 4-1-3-2 formation into a steady 4-2-3-1 similar to that of his previous club Zenit, will surely bring some solidarity. To raise funds for the squad overhaul high wage earner Clerc, the ageing Defoe and Colombian midfield superstar Freddy Guarin were all sold.

This gave JMK7 around 50 million to play with.  A new Defensive minded midfielder was now needed and ironically it was another Colombian International who was recruited to fill that gap. The tenacious, tough, ball winning bulldog Meija, for a 6million steal. He will now play alongside fellow South.American, the Brazilian Ralf to make a solid, deep lying midfield duo which will help the faltering back four.  And though we hate to point the finger of blame at individuals it was obvious a fair number of the goals conceded were due to the ageing and somewhat disastrous form of goalkeeper Da Costa.

It set the club back 11 Million to fix this, steady eddy Padelli comes in to hopefully prevent more heavy beatings for the Sporting fans. Flair and creativity also seen to be lacking on return to the Prem, so a big signing was needed and wing wizard Aiden McGeady is the man to solve this problem, returning to the club for 20million PENce. He will be a key player as Sporting adapt from their old narrow short passing game, now looking to use wing play to open up the big teams.

Also, as a result of this, veteran reserve player Duda has made the step back up to the starting XI due to his tantalizing crossing ability.  It will be interesting to watch Sporting's new approach utilising the wide play ability of this pair, who will be providing the ammunition for the towering and powerful striker Moreno. Who is another interesting character to consider in the teams change of plan. With Defoe gone and only one Striker in the first 11, Jo has dropped to the bench as the improving Moreno takes center stage due to his great hold up play and heading ability, which will surely be necessary as the lone target man.

Another interesting change sees Dominguez with his improved form take over from Kaka, as JMK7 proves that he will take no prisoners in dropping big names due to poor performances. Dominguez sits in Frillypinkly behind Moreno and pulls the strings with his creativity and late runs into the box. Things are looking up already as in some recent friendlies with this new system not only have Sporting been winning, they have been outplaying and dominating the opposition most often, whilst conceding few chances and creating many of their own. Also with the South American attacking trio of Kaka, Jo and Recoba all ready to jump off the bench optimistic spirits and exciting times all round at Estadio Jose Alvalade..
