The old lady rises

Written by
Once considered the greatest club in Italian football, the majestic Old Lady has once again grabbed our attention. Due to faltering circumstances the recently promoted Reading have disbanded and Juventus have stepped up in their place. Some early signs are promising as the newly appointed Scottish manager Cakeyb has taken the reigns at the Italian powerhouse.
During the off season Juve have been in practice. With some new additions to the squad, bolstering the shakey inheritance from the now forgotten biscuit men.
With Siem De Jong coming in from the cold, once a great presence in the Reading side that challenged for the PS4 Division 2 title, he has come to Juve with something to prove. He has the ability and drive to succeed but recent moves to Newcastle have seen his career stall. The switch to Italy and a high profile club like Juventus many seem to believe he can come up with the goods and repay the faith the manager has shown in him.
Also the addition of Kolbeinn Sigthorsson the Icelandic striker formally of FC Nantes, he and his new manager hopes he can provide the goals in the forthcoming season to secure safety in the new PS4 Division 2. As you can probably tell from the profile shot above Sigthorsson has a no nonsense approach to his game, this he hopes suits his manager as a more settled team this season is certainly on the cards.
Ikechukwu Uche found first team football in short supply since his move to Reading, but has struck up a partnership in the forward line of the Juventus attack. Linking up with Sigthorsson in pre-season he has nailed his place in the first team plans. His tricky footwork and never say die attitude is something his manager has come to love about the Nigerian.
The upcoming season is sure to be an interesting one in all Divisions. With a new manager and team, it may prove a task to far for Scottish manager Cakeyb. But as ever he doubts his critics and naysayers alike. Quoted as saying that with the dedication and hard work that lead him to get Reading promoted he can help Juve stay in Division 1.

When asked about his transfer market dealings this season the manager kept his cards close to his chest. With the revolving door at the Madejski of last season firmly in everyone’s many hope the manager can find a more settled team this time round. Cakeyb did say he was happy with the current spine of the team, but that no one is safe from the chopping block. Everyone has his price he says and if a big premiership team was to come calling for a star then he would look to get the best deal for the club and not look to stand in his player’s way, if it’s a move that they wanted.
Some have of the Turin faithful have questioned the manager’s credentials, as to whether he is the right man for the job. As the upcoming season will be the managers second some fans have voiced their concerns that their beloved old lady may catch a limelight that they see fitting for lower rated teams.

A statement from the Cakeyb below may put the fans at ease, only time will tell.
“I would like to thanks the board and the fans for the welcome I have received upon my arrival here. The plans and aspirations that I have for this team, I believe will prove that I am the right man for the job. The fans can rest assured that I will do everything within my power to once again make this club great again. Much like the phoenix from the flames, the Old Lady Rises”
