Xbox Prem League Cup Round 1 Predictions

Written by
With the announcement of the Return of Cups to PEN and the first round fixtures released we delve into the murky waters of the Xbox Premiership to see what Round 1 will have in store for us. Veteran manager Tazarr shines his light on each game and shares his predicted outcomes.

Jlizzle4shizzle v Jeeemy

Prediction 1 - 3
Jlizzles young guns face a tricky tie against Jeeemy's men and Jliz will be looking to Rabiot and Laporte to inspire the youngest squad in PEN , but given their start to the season I can only seeing this going one way. Jeeemy will be looking to utilise the aerial threat of Gestede and Lambert with Gundogan pulling the strings in midfield and Julio Cesar holding the fort in net.

Key Man: Gundogan - Jeeemy

Ronbhoy7 v Balonga1

Prediction 2 - 1
Ron will look to use the running power of Perisic and Feghouli in this one and take advantage of the mayhem they cause and having played him recently would expect him to do just that.
Balongas game plan will be simple yet very effective - Get Willian on the ball and try to get Llorente involved and fight for aerial supremacy , although I see Llorente scoring, it wont be enough and Ron will progress

Key man: Feghouli - Ronbhoy7

Socksyy v Leonidas

Prediction 2-3
There will be goals in this one for sure as there usually is when free scoring Leonidas is involved. Socksyy has made a good start to life in PEN but I feel the experience of Leo will be crucial in this one and he will hold his nerve to squeeze through.
Gotze will be the obvious threat from Socksyy but Arouna Kone has been a menace in the Xbox Prem this season so will have to be watched.
Leo will be looking to Sigthorsson to lead the line but its the little speed merchant Alessandrini that will do the damage with his pace and running.

Key man: Alessandrini - Leonidas

Scottish Champ v Tazarr

Prediction 2 - 1
Scottish is a regular sparring partner of mine and has had the upper hand recently so I would expect him to edge this one.
Man mountain Ibrahimovic wannabe Larrondo will be the main man but with other dangermen in Mertens and Bakambu it's a near on impossible task keeping all three quiet. The big danger for Scottish here though is that he hasnt been played in friendlies :shifty: and gets complacent.
My lads will look to player of the season Dirar to produce the magic but reality tells me we will concede more than we score and will leave the competition early.

Key man: Larrondo - Scottish Champ

Oldeuboi v Smithers J0nes

Prediction 1 - 3
Manual purist Olde will have his work cut out against high scoring Smithers in this one and will fall to the sword known as Biram Diouf in a well contested game. Olde will be relying on top striker Charlie Austin who helps himself to goals on a regular basis but I can't see him outscoring Diouf.
For all Smithers scoring antics though his defence is often AWOL and Olde will need to take advantage of this to stand a chance.

Key man: Diouf - SmithersJ0nes

Robert1985 v MRB

Prediction 0 - 3
Current Xbox champ MRB will have too much in his locker for Robert in this one and I see a routine victory here with old boy Gilardino helping himself upfront. Robert though is a decent player and has a tidy squad so I would expect him to give it a go and try to get Jese on the ball to run at that ageing defence.

Key man: Gilardino - MRB

Danny1894 v MattyPThaG

Prediction 4 - 2
This will be the highest scoring game of the round with goals guaranteed as both players prefer to attack rather than defend.
Fancy Danny for this one on the day though and think the midfield will be his with Shelvey pulling the strings and Wijnaldum providing the class going forward. Matty will fight for it though and Gameiro is more than capable of carrying the team through but Danny's experience in high pressure games will see him home.

Key man: Shelvey - Danny1894
