New Era at the Nou Camp?

Written by Bluebird

European giants F.C. Barcelona find themselves at the wrong end of Division 1 East after their opening 4 games and pressure from fans is mounting. After narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs last season the fans were expecting a promotion challenge again this season, but so far they have been left frustrated with the lack of points picking up only 2 from a possible 12.

Manager Bluebird is keen to stop the rot and has bought in several new players and a change of formation which he hopes will change the luck of the Catalan outfit. After switching to 3 at the back in pre-season with great success, Barcelona haven't carried that from in to the league so far. So he switched to a new 4-3-3 formation and brought in experienced Welsh legend Chris Gunter at right back. Bluebird was manager at Cardiff City when Gunter came through the youth system and has followed his career closely ever since. The Welsh International says he is looking forward to working with his ex manager and is sure that he can help Barcelona return to the Premier League.

The Barcelona captain is also hoping that their form returns and they can climb the table but admits they have to improve defensively. Mertesacker has stated that this new system being implemented by the manager will require a lot of work on the training ground but everyone in the squad is dedicated to the manager and his coaching team. The giant German was promoted to the Premier League with Bluebird previously so knows exactly what it takes to get the job done.

The one player everyone is hoping get back to his prolific best is Emiliano Sala - last season's top scorer with 26 goals in 32 games. So far this season he has only scored 2 goals which by his standards isn't good enough. He has been putting extra sessions in in training and is confident that he can recreate last season blistering goal scoring form.

With 3 tough game coming up against Alex Cage, Phoenixhako and DJ Quantum Bluebird's new formation and players will be put to the test. Will all the hard work pay off? Only time will tell...
